Sprite Deep Wide Wet
Red n Black Soft Snatcher
Snatchers come in many dressings and are without doubt one of the best trout flies out there and something I’ve written about many times before.
Overdressing them, I feel, spoils the effect so sometimes I tie up a few without hackles using a scruffy, well picket out dubbing instead to give that ‘hatching buzzer’ / ‘general bug’ effect.
Normally tied on a curved hook, this time I’m using the exaggerated sweep of the bend on the Sprite S1480 Deep Wide Wet hook as this gives a very similar effect on a very nice and strong hook.
I also tie these on the Sprite S2480 which is the barbless version of the same hook for times when a barb isn’t required.
Great early, or even general season pattern that you can fish with confidence.
